Tables & Desks

Tables and desks occupy an interesting middle ground. They're still useful as platforms, giving the model another level to sit, kneel, or recline on, but unlike boxes they are unmistakably furniture.

2. Donald Kimrey posed facing a way with one knee up on a table. It looks like a barn setting with hay on the floor and some type of farm equipment in the background...maybe AMG?

That familiarity changes the way we read the image. A table can suggest an office, classroom, or dining room. Even without additional props, it nudges the imagination toward everyday life rather than pure abstraction.

At the same time, stripped of their normal surroundings, tables become strangely ambiguous. Somewhere between sculpture and storytelling, they can hint at professional, academic, or domestic fantasies—or simply exist as another object in the studio.

8. Kirt Loder by Champion Studio (Walter Kundzicz) (thanks Naven1918) seated on a table leaning slightly into his arms behind him to engage his abdominals.  He doesn't look too happy here...but apparently excited.
