The discussion topic for today is: What makes a physique photograph sublime for you?
By sublime, I mean something beyond simply beautiful: an image powerful enough to overwhelm our ordinary way of looking and move us somewhere deeper.
For me, I feel it in both body and mind. A photograph might pull me into a memory, a mood, or a swirl of thoughts. Sometimes the response is physical—my heart beats faster, I get a little lightheaded or sweaty, or I feel the stirrings of arousal—even when the image isn't overtly erotic. It's a kind of awe that gets under my skin before I can completely explain why.
What does that for you? Is there a particular physique photograph you consider sublime? What is it about the image—the model, pose, light, composition, eroticism, something you can't name—that takes it beyond simply beautiful?
