This set begins with George Conover spread against a wall and ends with Rocky Lanz making use of one of Bob Mizer's famous backyard walls, which also highlights Brad aka Dusty Dillon, Bob Pistol, and Joe Cataldi.
1. George Conover, Nova legend.
2. Bob Pistol, well-rounded Mizer model
Walls show up everywhere in physique photography. Unlike a plain studio backdrop, they bring a little history and personality into the frame.
3. Unknown model, looks possibly from the 1920s-30s though I can't confirm
4. Tom Brozovich in a posing strap
Backyard walls, industrial walls, brick walls, concrete walls—they tell us something about where the model is, even if it's mostly implied.
5. Unknown model in deep squat by Robert Cusido c 1990's (this is later than my focus era, but aesthetic and theme align well)
6. Jim Collette in deep squat near flower bed.
They also give photographers another tool to play with. Models can lean against them, stretch across them, perch on top of them, or use them to create interesting lines and shapes.
7. Joe Cataldi in a jump off Mizer's trampoline. This model is so uninhibited. I love it.
8. Brad aka Dusty Dillon flexing his guns, also in Mizer's back yard.
What I enjoy most about these exterior wall shots is their sense of play. Joe Cataldi launches into a split jump, Rocky climbs around like a kid in a backyard, and even the more serious poses feel relaxed and physical. The walls may be solid and unmoving, but the men may not be.
9. Unknown model against wood wall (or very tall fence) by Bruce Bellas.
10. Rocky Lanz climbing up on Mizer's iconic wall.

Bless them walls. XG.
