Tommy Jones

Tommy Jones represents a noticeable shift in mid-century physique photography. Gone are the playful muscle poses and carefully constructed "ritual of innocence" that characterized so much of the Mizer, Bellas, and Warner years. Jones presents himself unapologetically as an object of desire, meeting the camera with a look that seems to say, "I know you want me."

Still in his late teens or early twenties, Jones possesses many of the qualities photographers sought during this period: a lean athletic build, handsome face, thick hair, deep tan, and exceptional photogenic presence. His long, untrimmed hair became his signature, framing a face that is both masculine and unexpectedly beautiful.

4. All of these photos of Tommy Jones are from a session by FILMCO for In Touch for Men magazine in the early 70s.  There is also a solo film of him undressing and masturbating simply titled, "Tommy Jones," which these images may be from.

Whether standing, reclining, or turning toward the camera, Jones repeatedly directs attention to his pelvis through posture, eye contact, and an almost theatrical confidence. There is very little ambiguity about the photographs' intentions. If anyone has additional information about Tommy Jones, I'd love to hear from you.

Tommy Jones' In Touch For Men feature, which describes him as a rebel who gives dirty oral book reports, refuses to cut his hair and will only join the high school swim team if he can practice naked. So he gets private [naked] swim lessons from the coach even though he already knows how to swim.

10. Closing with an upper body shot. One source called him a "rock-n-roller," but they do not site where they gathered this.  I'd love to learn more if anyone has any reliable info on him. There is another long-haired model from the era with the same name, but no resemblance. And there is a Sam Jones from the '70's who vaguely looks like he could be an older version of him, but again, no evidence of a connection.
